has anyone got advice on how valueble these kombi are. its a 1975 Kombi Baywindow double cab with s 2lt aircooled engine. just been resprayed.

It is very hard to say from a picture. If it is perfect, which it is not looking at the wheels, then upwards from 100k.
The paint can be good, it can be a quick cover up and develop rust in a short time.
The engine may run, but be worn out and tired. On a type 4 the engine can be expensive to restore.
The steering may be worn and sloppy.
So from 15k to 50k considering all factors is my view.
There are too many factors to tell at a glance.

MY OPINION IS THAT THESE ARE THE MOST VERSATILE BUS AND HAVE A BIT OF CHARACTER AS WELL.
MOST TIMES THE ASKING PRICE IS OPTIMISTIC SO CHECK IT OUT PROPERLY AND BE PREPARED TO NEGOTIATE. WHO WOULD GO TO ALL THE TROUBLE OF RESPRAYING THE SHELL AND NOT DO THE RIMS? THE BIG MONEY COMES WITH THE MECHANICAL REPAIRS AND FINISHING. THESE COSTS ALONE COULD MOUNT UP TO R100 000 PRETTY QUICKLY DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU WANT OR WHAT IS NEEDED.
BE REALISTIC WITH YOURSELF. BEAUTIFUL VEHICLE, LOADS OF FUN BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE TIME AND WALLET TO MATCH.
GOOD LUCK WITH EITHER THE BEETLE OR BUS.
