!If you have a late bay, with twin carbs, the 1st thing that comes to mind is that the one carb is running too lean.

This could be a lot of things, but normally leaking seals on your manifold, or blocked jets, or low fuel level in the float bowl

If you have a single carb, it still could be leaking seals on manifold.

Let us know what engine you have or maybe a photo or two.

The hotter will be the leaner, i would look for air leaks 1st, as when it sucks more air from the leaks the mixture gets more lean.

or the colder head is just receiving less fuel
have you balanced the carbs properly?

No need to send anyting anyware... Plain old prescision and common sense is all you need to balance the standard type 4 carbs. No special tools needed if done that way. Are you 100% sure ignition is firing all 4 plugs and valve clearances correct?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

As Dawie said, not much to set twin carbs, its just the unknown that makes it scary

get onto You Tube and find the carbs you have

Get some white chalk wet it then mark each exhaust port start it and see which side drys first. They should all dry at roughly the same time if the engine is running like it should be. My 2 cents worth.
