I have managed to make yet another piece of work for myself.
While trying to get the flywheel off, the wedge slipped and conveniently fell where it shouldn't have, breaking the engine mount bolt.
Any advise on how to fix this mistake (or f...up)
I was thinking of trying easy outs, or tapping. Not sure if its a special bolt or rod though.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
File it flat, then drill using 0.5mm bigger drill bits at a time.
Once you get it thin enough, either use an easy out or if you have gotten to the center nice and proper, then you can peel it out with long lose pliers.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
Take care not to break the drill bit off in the mounting bolt. Happened to me, what a nightmare.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
If you heat it up and let it cool a few times, just a bit, not very hot,(350 - 400 deg C)the expansion of two different metals will loosen it up a bit and make the whole process a lot easier.

Using cutting fluid while drilling and tapping also helps, and also makes your bits and taps last longer.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
If all else fails and there is space weld a nut on the stud let it cool then slowly turn the nut once it moves spray Q20 on and work it in and out until it turns out easy.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
There doesn't seem to be enough of the 10mm stud sticking out, so one could always weld an 8mm bolt to it and try to wiggle it out that way.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
Thank you all for the advise. @TerryPhillips its flush with the casing. No chance (at least for me) to weld.
I will heat and cool, drill and oil, and pray it comes out without any hiccups.

Re: Engine mount bolt broken off
You can build the bolt up with welding just enough to weld the nut on,but you need good welds to make it work.
