Door Adjustment

Post by creepybug »

Hi There

I am looking for someone to align and adjust the doors on my 75 beetle. Bit of play on the pins and bottom of door touching the running board

I live in Durbanville area.

Thanks,
Duane

You adjust the doors by loosening the hinges on the body side, move the door to the right place and lock up the screws again

If the above suggestion doesn't sort you out, there could also be play on the rivets that attach the hinge to the door. In that case you need to drill out these rivets and replace them with countersunk M6 screws and nuts. It's better if you remove the door and perform this on the bench.

Tried adjusting but seems like oversized hinge pins are needed too. Anybody in cape town that can do it?

Thanks
