Hey guys,
Been a follower for a while now and have started tinkering with my 65 beetle.
Have any of you converted to air suspension? I'm thinking of doing this, but no idea of cost and suppliers.
I want to change the look of my beetle, getting rid of the 17s and going for the slammed look with widened 15s.
Thank you

I like the way you think, Better to fit air ride, so you can slam, drive or off road as you like.
So sick of these kids that hack the suspension to hell and try too look cool rattling their kidneys to sh!t
Not to mention holding up traffic as they can not get over speed bumps.
Let me know how it goes down, and try look up about it on www.thesamba.com

I like the look of your car as it is. To me, she looks just right and doesnt need to be lowered or converted to smaller wheels. Maybe a bit of extra power to go with the look.
Needless to say that any kit done locally will be custom (either done properly or a hack job) so you might be better off importing a kit - and thats pretty big bucks.
Look up a company called airkewld ( www.airkewld.com )
from them, a front and rear kit will cost around $4000 at their shop - you still need to factor in shipping and import duties

Re: Air suspension for 65 bug
A friend did his recently built and sourced all parts locally. It is doable and depending on what you think is expensive it's not too bad. Think his full set up came in around 10. The tank and solenoids are costly. Pop me a pm with your number.
More than meets the eye!
