Carb Settings on Solex 31-pict3

Post by Jlou »

I have finally reached the next step and found out I am very close to noob level on carbs.

I am currently running a Solex 31 PICT -3 on a 1500 sp- I have scoured the internet, and found very little on setting the carb - most hits comes back on the Solex 34 Pict -3. As far as I understand the 31 is more "reliable" than the 34.

The question I have is 2 part
1) What is the correct setting for the volume control and airflow?

2) I suspect the sales person gave me a carb kit for a 34 -but I won't know the difference until its too late. Any advise on what to check for? Should it be the case can I still use the parts without any serious issues?

I am sorry to ask such a stupid question.

Generally, Beetle carb kits aim to cover a range of carbs, so you should be OK.
