Upside down trumpets

So I have these buggy trumpets.... has anyone ever flipped then over and swopped sides so they come out below the motor and in the centre? Is it possible?
The exhaust studs will line up, but not sure about other clearances..
edit - this on my early bay, which is riding high at the moment...

if you look at the bottom pic, thats an approximate height where the engine usually sits. (The outlets). So the trumpets would essentially be dragging on the tar under normal conditions.
Im sure you could cut em and re-position to get them just below the motor itself, but for sure, you don't have much clearance under a stock motor ride height.

Two thoughts...
1. You would have an uninsulated heat source directly below your sump.
2. Access to your sump plate will be next to impossible, making oil changes a nightmare.

Fair comments both...
