well then at least you have the correct gear ratios for the bus.
Also, Rimula is the best oil to use, thats what I use. I've had it tested before and it does have the correct additives for our engines.
BTW, Retro... Rimula is a diesel oil

You've done a few km now, do a full service, check tappets, timing and change the oil. The worst should be over...

That dipstick saved my engine once.
I also played around with it in a pot of oil on the stove with a thermometer and set it to where I wanted it to go off.

Just check the top of the dipstick from time to time as mine was a bit loose and moved around causing the light to go off.

My crank pull has a notch on the outer flange and a groove to the right of the notch on the inner , set the timing on the inner groove with a timing light. Dwell is 48.
Any comment on the above. Is that the right timing mark.

the concave "ding" on the pulley (looks like a hammer blow) indicates TDC.

Set Idle to the 7deg mark

I'm not sure how accurate this is but here it is with some measurements

Me again.
Took the bus out for a drive and once warm runs much better.
After lekker drive parked and opened engine lid saw condensation on bottom of carb and carb very cold. Is that normal.

normal, nothing to worry about
it is fuel evaporating in the manifold, causing the area around it to get cold - humid air will condense on this
