LOL... yea, things arent going according to plan on my side
I'm supposed to be coming home on 1 April, so after the European spike, I booked a flight through New York to JHB. This was cancelled a day later when SAA shut shop.
Not too bad, considering the thousands of cases now in NY.
I'm now booked to fly home via London.
But now, Cyrils speech yesterday says that all incoming people from high risk areas will be placed into 14 day quarantine. Previously he referred to self isolation or self quarantine, so I'm not sure if placed into quarantine means getting stuck in some government institution or if I can go home to quarantine.
Currently, I am at sea, arriving in Florida on Saturday morning. 5 hours after arrival, I go to the airport and begin the trip home. So far we have zero cases onboard, so touch wood, I'll be safe when I get home. So the last thing I want is to get stuck in a government shiv hole with others who have the illness for 2-4 weeks.

Then the other question exists.... will I still be able to travel to get back to the boat at the end of May or will I lose my job from this? I suspect the latter

Ill be pulling my beetle's motor to replace front sealing rubber, crankcase seal and general clean up, sorting out slight shudder at front wheels also replacing rear bearing seals and gaskets,
That should take 2 days, what will I do for the next 19 days?
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

I was hoping to work a lot on car projects but my boss gave us a long list of stuff to do during the lockdown period! At least I can work on my laptop and watch Youtube videos at the same time.

This is what is scaring me. I have what I believe to be a stuck valve...dunno what to buy now and surely don't want to buy anything I don't need. So' I'll take it apart over the next 3 weeks

I am in Pharma manufaturing, so will still be working through this. Not sure how long though... It is one thing to say "yes, we are open and working as an essential service", and a completely other thing for manufacturing staff to get to work. Also, only so much you can do from home.
I guess we will only know when the hammer drops? If I run out of actual work, and the wife's to-do list, I guess I will be washing and polishing cars for a day or 5? Who knows?

Not going to be a pessimist but rather a realist..... 21 days, no way, look at the rest of the world where there has been lockdowns, China, Korea etc. it’s now running into months not weeks, so take your time with whatever you have to do, you going to have plenty time.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......
