Stuck engine lid latch

Post by Madbones »

Morning,
Can anyone assist with advice on how to open a stuck engine lid? :?
I fitted the latch with the one lower screw and closed the lid.
When I press the button it seems to still be latched like the hook is not clearing.
Any tricks to opening this please?
The lock is not locked as I have no key and it was moving freely.
Thank you.

Try pressing the knob, at the same time as pushing down on the lid (towards the bumper),to use up any free movement on the hinges to clear the catch.

Glad you got sorted. I initially thought the problem was due to the car being upside down and because of that, you actually tried to open the car and not the bootlid.
