Ok next episode!!!!.....after bols-up with primer on galvanise sheeting,.....strip all paint ,...repaint with galv primer.

In between all chores and all other household items,...

3 prefits and loosing bolts and a lot of inward swearing,....remaking the loom,.....I think I am ready to do the final fit,.......pretty soon!

Well,......now that the festive dust settled !,....it was time to fit this lot ,...rout the loom and !!,...fit the fuse and start!!
That's exactly what happened yesterday,.....Yes eventually
Impressed with the priming method! 2'nd swing and the old goat came out of it's slumber of about 3 weeks!!

excellent job Nick, well done, looks factory.

BUT ........

The guys are going to tell you that you need to move the fuel filter to the other side of the fire wall.

If you now have a engine fire the filter will melt and the fuel will still keep coming.

I see you are using the good fuel hose. Thats the same stuff I use - it'll last for years.


re the filter - you could consider a fuel injection filter - they do the same as the cheaper ones, but are made from metal to handle the pressure - so they wont hole through unless its a really bad fire. I wouldnt recommend this in a beetle to to where it sits, but in your situation, it is far enough away from the engine.
outside of the engine bay is still safer though

Tell you what,......by the time the filter melts,...and I have not noticed,......pls shoot on site!!😤😤
BUT,....I will change as soon as I can,...with new pipe,....filter has to accessable for an old fart !,,

Its fuel hose rated at 20bar. I used to get it at Hyflo, but they are no longer

Most hydraulic places have Fuel hoses as well, as they are normally resistant to oil /fuel/ chemicals

You can select your pressure rating from the range.

Hyflo was taken over by the BMG group and they still stock all the same components as what the old Hyflo did.
BMG also took over the old Tool Quip and Allied company if you used to get anything there.

The only problem is you now need to know more than the BMG salesman as it’s become a big enterprise with staff that don’t know what they actually sell, stock or can do for you. Bunch of useless idiots.

Thank you for all that have contributed to this thread and all the other threads on the forum
about Electric fuel pumps this is why I really enjoy ACVWSA !
Been doing research on this topic for my engine build and want to go with an electric
fuel pump setup on a 1600TP type 1 motor with twin 36idf Webers, also going to be using
a G Tech electronic ignition system.
I spoke to the guys at Huco in Boksburg and was told the Huco 133010 has been discontinued
and the two options are the 443000 (Tank placement) and 443010 (Engine bay placement)
But reading here believe these are no good !
I see the other option is the Facet 40163 .... where can I get one of these ? Considering all
the drama at the moment don't want to try import anything and would prefer to walk into a
shop and get one ... ( not sure if this is wishful thinking )
Beside the above options are there any other options ....? what solution does Volkspares in Jet
Park offer ... ?

The guy in Boksburg is talking BS, he has said this for the last 6 years,

He only has the high pressure pumps in stock and nobody wants to buy them, so he refuses to import the right one.

The correct Facet is also hard to get, but you can go for a pressure regulator to bring it back to 2.5 PSI

Best you import the right one, ask @Haans he has just got one and these guys are professional suppliers, no sweat, you will have it in a week.

Or have Volkspares order the right thing for you, tell them what you want and they will get it.
