Beetle Exhaust Silencer

How interchangeable are the exhaust silencers on the early (60's - 70's) beetles. I'm looking for a 1964 silencer which according to my measurements are 600mm between connecting pipes. Are they fitted by cc (1200,1300....)?

1200cc silencer will not fit on a 1300cc or 1600cc and vice versa.

Post a photo of your engine that way we could at least figure out if it is a 1200 or bigger
1600 silencers can be cut and shut to fit but the odd 1200 one can still be found

I know it is a 1200cc, I was just wondering what I should be hunting. I would prefer to get the 1200 silencer rather than retro fit another.
