At last got the electronic ignition sorted and WOW what a pleasure. I took some time and cut new gaskets for the carb and adaptor plate and the motor runs very well. Acceleration is smooth and the torque is good. The motor is stock standard and not run in. I bought an accelerator cable from goldwagen and this makes the mod much easier. A plastic type fitting that fits onto the carb was also modified to take a cone filter that is hidden from sight. it makes the mod look good without unnecessary fuss. I haven't driven the car much as it is not yet lisenced, so cannot comment on freeway driving or fuel consumption. So far- so good
