at a guess...
60K for the engine
50K for the gearbox
20K for extras

and that doesnt include the brakes.
150hp out of a beetle engine isnt difficult if you have the cash to do it.

how did you do it?
How much did it cost?
and what about a 2ltr 8v which is better modifying a beetle or the golf motor?

I built it as a long term project as funds and time allowed. New everything. Cost,,, who knows? I didnt keep track.

3 options. Reliable, power, cheap. You can only choose 2.
100hp is an easy cheapish target that wont kill gearboxes. 150hp is a fair bit more pricey and you will be borderlining on gearbox reliability.

Golf Engine? Its all your call. Cheaper but much more work as you also have adaptors, radiators, new water lines.... and an extra chunk of weight hanging over the end making the car oversteer more and a engine lid that needs serious modification to close and will look shit if you do those mods.

o thanks... ill think about it but i know i can get a modded motor if i go to FFR with 16k +... and i checked with people and it would be around 20K+ for a golf motor...

Im leaning more to the golf motor cause i saw what needs to be done to make it look mooi... but ill miss the aircooled sound which i love...

If you want a Golf Motor, buy a Golf, you will get one cheap, and they all have one in.

The charm of a Beetle or any Aircooled VW, is the fact that it is an Aircooled.

An Vw Aircooled, is an collectors Item, and an hacked beetle is just that, no pedigree, and unsellable.to the general masses.

OMO but hey !! ... Go ahead, it will all come out of your pocket.
