Post by team biscuit »

Hi All
I have posted a post few month ago about this project but got a different gearbox
I want to know if there is someone in the Western Cape you can recommend to help me with this conversion
Adapter plate ,flywheel and clutch ext. I have done the IRS conversion but need help on this
Do I need to turn tis box upside down in order for the gears to turn the right way

thank you

Yes you have to do that if using an Audi box. Unfortunately your cv joints will then be positioned much higher, causing them to run at higher angles.

Hypoid crownwheel/pinion setups are offset, unlike a beetle type transmission. So you cannot simply flip the crownwheel around, even if there was space inside to do that.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Thanks Dawie
great advise
I am considering to turn my box around in pypkar
so
Driver Engine and then Gearbox at back
if I can pull this off it will give me great back clearance for the 4x4 events
just to do some measurements and see how it will influence my car length
