Does your Beetle have the holes in the doors for the mirrors?

In '74 the law only required side mirrors on the driver's side of a car. A passenger side mirror was regarded as an optional, luxurious accessory. Keep in mind that if you fit the bullet (billet?) mirrors, you will still have the hole in the drivers door. They will look cool, but I doubt you will actually be able to use the left mirror due to the angle. Trial-fit the mirrors with double-sided tape first before drilling..

it should be an alternator....what u can do, in connection with the power/sound thing--upgrade the cable coming from the alternator
to the battery.put a slightly larger diameter cable in, ie:if its a 6mm thick cable, put in a 10mm or if its 10mm a slightly thicker--u get the point?
this will only help in getting a smooth flow of current to yr battery, u must always picture current flowing in a cable as being water flowing in a
hose pipe.anyway, dont expect miracles.
i put in a slightly bigger battery than standard, and my sound has never given me issues--if it does demand to much, put a cap in...they only
like R300 or something

Yeah the guage of wire, does make a diff. Was thinking about a cap also. Im still figuring out the staging for the front. Im thinking 4 or 6 inch pods in the foot wells upfront.

I own a 1974 Beetle, and it has an alternator. If I get time, I'll post a photo of it, so that you can match yours to it, to try and answer your question.

i HAVE to agree with the splits--i did my mates car, and if u starting from scratch-put in a set of splits. in my opinion...u cant beat the quality
and value for money u get from star sound....their stuff is the most affordable out there.

remember though...splits are not as loud as say a set of 6x9's/7x10's--but the clarity is amazing. especially the star sound digital splits.
when u couple 2 sets of 6 inch splits(for the back and front doors) to a 4 channel star sound gladiator amp...u sorted!
the amp automatically sends more bass to the rare set, and the surround effect is unbellievable.

also, if u want bass but dont wanna put a big sub in....dont overlook the 8/10 inch limpids--they do bang, and simply mount into a back board.
although, any speaker boxed gives a better sound..even a set of 6x9's
