Forgotten beetle haven
This afternoon I came across the biggest stash of beetles I have ever seen. Any beetle lover will go out of his mind if they see this. Unfortunately no pics as I was actually trespassing. Got a pic of a single cab split bus though. Will resize the image tonight and post it here. Must be close to 40 beetles in a shed behind the house. Used to belong to the local beetle fundi. An old man that died since. Who they belong to now I have no idea. I know he had two sons but I can't track them. There is a couple of ovals as well as a split window. Unfortunately I don't have the co-ordinates but if you can use an adress to google it ,it is at bezuidenhoudt street in mokopane

Re: Forgotten beetle haven
Mokopane was formerly known as potgietersrus. They are all in a state of repair and mostly original. Use to know the old coon that owned them. Old man with the name Dan van Eyk. Stingy as hell. I will try to get a contact number for his sons as his wife died a couple of years ago. All the bugs are in a shed exept for 3 or 4. Lots and lots of spares also. Will see if I can sneak in and take pics during the week when activity on the street is less.

Re: Forgotten beetle haven
I use to work with a young guy here in Secunda who was forever buying spares for beetles. He and his dad use to rebuild and fix them up and the old man stayed in the Potgietersrus area .Maybe its the same guy.Iwill see if I can get his surname and whereabouts tomorrow.
The Volkspares guys should know him.
cheers baron
