Re: Karmann Ghia Type 1 Windscreen 1960/70 model
As far as I know, Karmann Ghia Windscreens are very similar in size, but on close inspection and investigation we learn the following.
All KGs up to August 1966 shared the same windscreen height of 17 inches and 1967 and later ones had a height of 17,25 inches. (6mm difference)
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info Muds.
The screen I have measures in at exactly 17 inches (43,2cm)
So it will definitely fit All models before August 1966...

Jack, just be sure that you get the correct windscreen for your car.
Beware of the confusing information in this thread. Pre-'66 cars with the C-channel chrome trim around the windscreen, will take a larger 17,25" (height measured in the centre) windscreen, and post-'66 cars with the aluminum T-profile trim, take the 17" screen.
The physical windscreen openings are identical for both cars, but the smaller screen was used in post-'66 models, to accommodate the T-profile aluminum trim. You could technically fit the smaller screen to your car, provided that you also use the later T-profile trim and matching rubber, but that would not be period correct.
Let me know if you find a 17,25" windscreen locally, as I have only seen the later 17" windscreens advertised.

Hi Fourier thanks for your brilliant feedback, I still have a few of the 17” screens, I did not know about the c-chanel and t-profile trim.
The previous info relating is not correct as I have a pre 66 with the c-chanel, based on what you mentioned makes so much sense and has cleared the incorrect information.
Thanks for input once again
