ACVW parts @ Van Den Brink

Post by fig »

Hi Volks

I got a message from John Roestenburg at Van Den Brink Motors in Kya Sands that old man VDB is finally selling all his land.

John has started to sell all the parts they have in preparation for the sale.

I don't know what they have left, but they previously had a warehouse full of new, NOS and used parts, as well as a 5-acre scrapyard full of ACVWs. Some of the yards have been cleared over the past few years, but there are still a lot of ACVWs with usable parts in the yard.

If you are looking for ACVW parts for your restoration or to keep your car running, or just to add to your stash, I suggest you pay VDB a visit before they call in the scrap metal dealers.

Who remembers, they used to have the most terrifying vicious dog there :) It actually stopped me to get parts for a squarry as it was to close to the make shift gate/fence and I was scared I was gonna get mauled :):) spend many hours there looking and finding "stuff" although pickings got slimmer as the years go by still lotsa stuff there im sure. Sad end to an era :(
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

I remember going there in early 2000 and i was taken on a "tour" of the place looking for parts. I think we must have gone into about 6 or 7 fenced and gated yards and the place was packed with all sorts of vw's

Not set foot in that dump in years, there is almost nothing worthwhile left, the arrogant old Dutchman had the habit of quoting a price over the phone, then you get there to collect and the price had gone up, told to take it or leave it. He did this to me twice.

The "arrogant old Dutchman" retired years ago. John has been running the business ever since. He is very pleasant to deal with.

Agree Fig,
I went there two weeks ago as I was passing by and looking for a rear wheel castle nut. He sold me his last two for a bargain.
Pleasant and worth a visit.
