Mid-1950s VW Hazet Tourist round toolkit, R15k, Pta

Post by fig »

Sellers have cottoned on to the prices being paid for these overseas ...

This one has a bit of patina, but is complete and the screwdrivers look unused. I believe it's a 1955/56 version.

I know of 2 over R12k which sold quickly last year.

I have one of the same age and in much better condition. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for one of these. They are undoubtedly very cool accessories which finish off a vintage ACVW very nicely. I might even consider selling the 2 that I have if someone offered me that kind of cash ...

I wouldn't mind getting just the empty toolbox to house my few Hazet tools, but I'm sure that would also be very expensive.

I see empty boxes on thesamba for between $250-$450. Crazy.

I do get a big kick out of hunting for Hazet tools in pawnshops, etc. Mostly they don't treat them any differently pricewise to Gedore, etc.

Thanks for posting Fig.
