rsk project for speedster project?

Post by azzkikr69 »

Iv been scouring this forum, love the speedsters! Is there anyone out there that has a speedster project to swap for a rsk project? I have a complete body on shortened pan, pan by kcc. Doors, bonnet, hinged the rear section already with the braces and bracket for the rear already built...

Good luck, but I don't think you'll accomplish this type of a swap.. The Speedsters have always been a more sought after car, and have always been 3 to 4 times the price. If you look at my posts in the Porsche section, I had been searching for a cheap speedster for over a year before I managed to find mine. A lot of the guys also suggested not advisable to try cnage a spyder to a speedster as the wheelbase is not the same. I dunno what you paid for this one, but I don't think you'll get a lot for it, and you need to be looking at 80 K upwards for a speedster.

The car in this Pic I don't think is a shortened chassis, I've had 2, this looks like it's a standard beetle chassis.. (I may be wrong tho).

Cheers

You're not going to get anyone to do an outright swap for what you want there buddy. RSK's when done right are usually in the 50's at best, a half assed speedster still tips the scales at 60 and up.

I don't know why people are so scared of that sebring speedster that the dude is selling, chop off the arches and go back is only going to be a 1-2 grand at worst. Slap on some new paint of feather in the old stuff and you have a good runner for under 80k and he's neg on his 70k asking price.

Rock up with 60k in your hand and I reckon that he'd take it.

Remember with the speedsters, the value is all in the details.
