Life is strange

Post by Watercool »

Life has a strange way of placing things in your way in the most unopportune times. As you have heard the USA is being clobbered with snow, and we are all trying our best to keep up with it.
I was out today plowing snow and doing a friends driveway, the neighbor walks over and ask how much to do his drive. Well I did his drive and he offers a nice cup of hot coca. Talking about this and that the conversation turns to cars, well he said he need to call the junker and see if they want the old car in the back yard. Now I am interested and took a look, well we struck a deal for plowing his drive for the rest of the winter and the flatbed was there within 20 min.
Well gents I am now the proud owner of a red 1987 Porsche 924. It is not running, because someone stole the computer and busted the driver rear window. Found a window on Ebay already, but I am letting the car sit till summer and then will resurrect it. Not bad for just plowing a driveway. Pics will follow.

Don't argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference

Sounds like you made a good deal.
Having owned a 924 personally can I make a suggestion? Forget the computer and throw out the k-jetronic system! Install an after-market fuel injection system. Think the Porsche cup guys in SA are running the Gotech system, much better reliability and they making more power. Wish I had done the conversion when I had mine, would have made my life a lot easier.

Lotus Elise 111R, almost everything is standard

JamesD, if it is an '87 it is a 924S; they don't have K-Jetronic systems any more; actually a 2.5 944 engine.
