Gearbox Housing Needed.

Post by swagon »

Hey, im kinda new to the whole forum thing but I need some advise please. I have a 1963 VW kombi(not the split window).
Recently the gearbox housing cracked and it has been a mission trying to get it either welded or replaced. So my question has 2 parts.
Firstly ,does any1 know of a reputable place/person that has Kombi spares in or around CPT?
Secondly ,would it be better to just try and get a new Gearbox instead of searching for a housing that actually fits.
The guy that is kinda like my mackie says that the beetle box is to small/thin to fit in the van.

Any info or assistance will be appreciated.

I now this has nothing to about what you asking but would you mind posting a pic of your ‘63 bus that’s not a split.

If you post a photo of the bus, our experts will identify the model year, and you will get the correct box for it.

Also post a photo of the motor, as these will determine which box goes in, of a photo of your old box.

These do not match ... 63 ..and.. not a split.

It may have 63 on the vin tag, but that is not the year of manufacture.
