IMPI told me about this buggy that was standing in Vredefort, Free State. Went to go and have a look at it a week ago, and went to go and fetch it on Friday. Towed it through to Orkney on Friday, and back to Johannesburg this afternoon. No immediate defintite plans at the moment, but would like to get it running before the end of summer, or at least till HW2 is completed!

Hmmm... Now that you have another toy, perhaps you can pass the 1303 to me
Nice find Pine. I'm sure that would be very easy to get running!

Nice find Pine! if you don't mind me asking what are the plans for the mini beetle on the roof rack? if someone had to make a would and produce more i would be interested in one for a lonely go cart i have  depending on the price that is.

Gave the buggy a quick cleanup and gelcoat polish yesterday, added some shiny headlights and a different front bumper and it is starting to look a lot better! 8)

I was a bit worried about the 'butt in the air' stance, but put an engine in to see what difference it makes, and I am quite happy now. Removed the ugly square tail lights to make place for the 60's Beetle lights (after all the holes are filled up, of course).

It needs a bit more work that it seems... brakes, king/link pins, electrics and the (lack) of a running engine is standing in my way at the moment

I am not sure if radiator pipe is fuel resistant - perhaps those silicon hoses that Volkspares sells?

Thanks Dutch, I am however very cautious that the yellow buggy does not stand in my way to complete HW2 - I might use it as a base to play around a bit with fibreglass bodywork skills, though..

if you head off to any decent hose shop (pneumatic, hydraulic and general purpose hose ditributors) they will have fuel resistant hoses.

I know of a place in CPT I would try as my first (and last) place cause they have everything you would need.... but I dont know their name. In Paarden Eiland, across the road from Hyflow.
