When people talk about lowering suspension, is 30mm a big or small drop?
I want to drop the suspension a tiny bit to fit my car in the garage but I don't want to look of a lowered bus

Ummm how DO i get access huh vader? hahahaha. People never learn. Haha. Oh and 30mm isnt a major drop, its what? 3cm.. I had a fiesta with a 60/40 drop. 60mm front, and 40mm rear. That was low, kinda too low. But a 30mm is safe. You just lowering it by 30mm from the exsisting height. Go measure the tyre wall to fender gap.then minus 30mm. I say do it.

Just let the air out before you drive into the garage and give the tyres a "fill up" once outside the garage!!! Simple, huh? Sometimes the easy answers are right in front of us! :hangloose:

This is something he sent me and I got to wondering about BFSC as this ships engines efficiency exceeds 50% thermal efficiency @ max economy....
Erased the email a while ago Vader, so cant post them...
vader wrote: Fuel consumption at maximum power is 0.278 lbs per hp per hour (Brake Specific Fuel Consumption). Fuel consumption at maximum economy is 0.260 lbs/hp/hour. At maximum economy the engine exceeds 50% thermal efficiency. That is, more than 50% of the energy in the fuel in converted to motion.
unfortunately this quote isnt correct... it achieves the high effiency yes, but not all of it is converted into motion. It should refer to the power which is produced from the fuel, not the power made for propulsion.
Engines like this occasionally have an extra "turbo" which is actually a turbine driven off the exhaust gas. With Turbos now becoming so much more efficient, there is often excess exhaust gas which can be used to make power, hense the turbine.
The exhaust gasses in the uptake exhausts also go thru "economisers" and / or exhaust gas boilers which is basically a bank of tubes filled with water. This water gets heated and then turns to steam. This steam is then used to heat the fuel and assist purifying the fuel, and might sometimes also be attached to a steam turbine which produces electricity.
All these uses would normally require a generator to run and provide the power, but instead, the exhaust gas in this case is being used to provide this power and extra power from the turbines (that is until the exhaust gas turbine stops working because the shipping company is too cheap to send people on courses on how to maintain them).

What is meant by SO55 etc, is it like a camper model or something? Do all busses have an "SO" number?
