The price for this service is 35 euros which you have to pay „cash with order“, please. Our terms of payment are: via Visa / Mastercard / American Express – card number and expiry date.

You can transmit the amount on our bank account

Do not forget to inform us about the chassis number of your vehicle and the engine number. Because of data protection we are not allowed to inform you about the original engine number. However, we are able to proof if the engine number you will give us correspond to the chassis number of your vehicle.

Please inform us about the name of the vehicles’ owner and the complete address where we should send the certificate to, please.

We need approximately four weeks for the research.

New: You also can order a birth certificate directly about our internet homepage http://www.volkswagen-automuseum.de . There you can find the link “Urkundengenerator”.

The website is in English and I ordered the cert online paying with my CC.

This is a useful service for older VWs. However, you'll find more info on thesamba.com than they give on the birth certificate. Also, many BCs have been observed with obvious errors.

They will not be able to give you any info about SA-assembled cars other than the date of manufacture of the CKD kit.

IMO, not worth R350.

Yes I dont think you will get alot of info but I was just curios to see what they can find. I guess it is one of those nice to have items....

So have you ordered already or do you plan to order? I really think having this is worth it and also might add value if you decide to sell later on...Are you taking both AC's over to UK?

Q plate is a late model registration ,or in SA terms, numberplate. Like getting a y plate (currently) up in Gauteng for your 50 year old pride and joy...

The 'Q' shows that the vehicle was either not originally registered in the UK and proof of age was unavailable at registration, or that it has been built using a significant proportion of used parts.

A Q plate is given when you can't prove the origin (i.e. kit car) or the age! Not good in the UK as people think it's a banged together car.

So basically similar to a CODE 3 here in SA....built up or accident damaged and rebuilt and also deregistered and re-registered.

Sounds like it....If I can proved from the manufacturer the origin of the vehicle as (VW) and the year....I can get a proper plate for them.
