Hello almal

It is early morning here in Upington, and with the rest of the house still asleep I want to share with you a car that interests me, and with which I have a few questions. It is an old beach buggie that has been standing for quite a while in a skuur of one of our neighbouring farms. The ou toppie who owns the farm said he bought it many years ago in Swakopmund at an auction, and they always used it for hunting springhase at night. He said it sounds like it has a Volkswagen engine in the rear, but the whole underside is covered, something I have never seen before. The old oom also says it was four wheel drive, but then on the other hand he likes his mampoer, and still swears the earth is flat and ends just after the Angolan border. I took this picture of it a few months ago with my cell phone, so I apologise for the poor quality. It is also standing in such a place, that you can't really get closer to see better. The fine white Namibian dust is everywhere, but it seems like it was painted dark green at a stage. Inside there are four small seats, and on one of the seats lies a steel propeller, I think it is from a motorboat which I dont know where it came from since there are no water for many hundreds of kilometeres around us, and no boats on the farm?
I also thought that buggies were made of glassfibre, but this one is from steel. I might end up buying it for the farm, if I could get it running I would cut it up to be a pypkar that one can have fun with on the farm! I would like some advice from the other guys here on how to put a Datsun 1200 engine in it, as I have a spare one there at my place, please e-mail me at jaapsteenkamp@webmail.co.za

Man, Holly crap if you dont buy it let me know I will go and get it, you have yourself a peice of history there, fresh from WW2 nice find. Whatever you do don't cut it up or change anything if you are looking for a buggy I will swop you for that Schwimmwagen, and a big cash in hand.
