US VW show this weekend

Post by Watercool »

This coming weekend the local VW club is holding its annual show and shine. I will take some pics, and report back on the doings, Hot VW's will be covering the show. It is ok, every year, not to big, but hopefully this year it will be better.

There will be a swop meet too, so do I need to look for some goodies, and if so what kind of things are we looking for, and what will you pay for it? If you can post a pic of the item the better, then I know what to look for.

Hi Henry,

If you manage to find the push button controller of and early 60's Notchback, I'd appreciate it.
I'm willing to go up to R500, but it would have to be in NOS condition if they want that price.

You won't even find a used one for that price, overseas. :?
If it's too low, you're too old

No, I didn't know that, honest! It's quite pretty, actually. No, my Notch is a 67, she don't got one of them. She's got the same switches as a Beetle, same in fact as my Razor, and that's a 64. My Notch does have a starter button on the dash, which I forgot about, which is why the Notch wasn't at the Melkbos Social. No amount of turning the key would start her!   Boy, did I ever feel stoopid when I woke up a 02h00 "Damn! That's why she won't start...!!!"

I just got back from the VW show, sunburned, tired but very happy. I wish I could have spended a lot more time there, but due to other commitments I spended as much as I could. I have some pics but I have to figure out how to resize them, so I can post them on the forum for all to enjoy. And yes Vader, I got some seatcover pics, just as my camera decided to die. It was a great turn out, not very big but nice. Met up with a lot of old VW friends and made some new ones.

I did searched the swap meet for you guys for parts, but I did not see anything worth the money or effort. This was the first year the show combined the Watercool and Aircooled shows and I think it worked very well. Both sides was very happy. All in all a very nice day.

We need to put together a trip to go visit one of these shows in the US.
