I came upon this car this morning and immediately put in an offer to buy it.
It is an original unmolested SP with original paint, original upholstery and carpets etc on the road with all papers in order.
Has some small rust issues, but not too serious

Congrats! I'm so jealous right now.
I would love to buy one too.

No Dutch, I was not successful
Having sold both the 67 Sunroof as well as the 69, I am now suffering severe Beetle withdrawal and had my heart set on the SP.

Do they not want to sell or do they just expect more money?

They were serious about selling, but when I factored in what was needed to get the car roadworthy and up to my standard (mechanically not aestetically) their asking price pushed the total purchase price too high.
Car needed 4 new tyres (stil has Firestone wide ovals - badly cracked)
King and link pins need to be replaced
Exhaust is badly rusted through
Brakes need to be overhauled
Would have pushed the cost to the ugly side of R33K
Rust repair and paint with spoiler replacement is not included
