Best Beetle's hire cars.

Post by Dawie »

Read in the Burger about 4 German lady-tourists who hired a beetle and had to pay R6000 in advance. The car burned because of an electrical short under the rear seat. Seems Best Beetle hired it out with a missing battery cover. The company refused to comment about the incident.

The ladies said they got no help from Best Beetle. The police offered to take them away from the scene. The student-tourists are now concerned that they may now loose their R6000. They are unhappy with Best Beetle's attitude and say they will never hire a car from them again.

Really sad. Most of these people's cars look like they are not being well maintained.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Best Beetle. I have met the owner a few times in the past...

Lets just say that I refuse to comment about him or his business. However, I will say that I highly doubt that he has any roadworthy vehicles that gets hired out.

Hmmm... after browsing their website I thought it would be fun for me and the missus to hire a beetle from them at Easter this year. When I arrived, I was mortified at the state of the vehicle they were planning to give me... I kicked up a bit of a fuss, knowing full well that SWAMBO woulod never be convinced to set foot in the vehicle let alone spend a week driving it around. The workshop was full of seriously ropey looking bugs with rust holes the size of footballs and all manner of strange looking conversions.

Anyway, they eventually gave us one of their long term hire beetles (the ones they advertise) and it wasn't too bad. It took about 2hrs to sort out the paperwork after a 1/2 hr drive from the airport. I wouldn't do it again.

We should hire one of their Beetles for a Day and do a write up.

Saw one in Cape Town once. It had holes rusted through basically everywhere and sounded very sick. Still they hire it out...its like riding on a dead horse and still doing the click click sound with a smile on your face...."just smile and wave"
