Hi! Dave here from H/town in the Eastern Cape. I am a transplant from Cape Town and am doing marine cabinetmaking for a yacht building company in St Francis Bay. The only acvw I have owned to date was "pyp-kar" and that was a good few years ago. I am looking at buying a buggie as the shekels allow and doing a bit of a retro look. I am following Pine's rebuild with lots of eye-stealing. I have rebuilt one or two land-rovers in the past but having found the interest and backup for acvw so huge will look this way for the future.

I will be asking lots of advice from a bunch who seem to know what they are talking about.

Cheers for now.

Dave

Jurgenalan, the only person with a personal avatar, WOW!
To the matter at hand, how much money do you have. How much money do you want to spend. How much money can you afford to spend?

"Working on a tight budget" won't get you far. Sir Richard Brandson was working on a tight budget when he did his trip around the world. You see, he too didn't get far, was back to square 1 in no time!

Hi guys, I'm a newbie, I bought my first Beetle today, 1973, 1600 model, she does need a bit of work though. But I can't wait to drive her home

Hey, Dave T from the US. We have a tub buggy(beach buggy) 2007cc type 1 based engine. I'm now looking at doing an upright conversion to a 1.7 type 2 bus engine. Here are some pics of the different things we have had at our place and friends rides. Enjoy. Thanks Dave T
