eye care

Post by IMPI »

Hi
last week i saw a little bubble like thing appearing in my right eye 4 days later the bubble obscured all my vision from my eye. I saw a docter and found out that my retina detached it self from the interior of my eye. The retina is the part which recieves the messages enabling you to see. I was operated on at the eye hospital in Northcliff and came home on friday I now can see a little and will probably see the doctor again tommorrow after noon. so far everybody has been great but it has been a teryfying experience.

All the best with the recovery Armand, I love the way you explained how the eye works, the soccer ball principle!

Sorry to hear that Armand; wishing you a speedy recovery.

So how does that happen and how does one avoid it?

IMPI, get well soon! Sure you will be ok ?
Avoid it by not looking at internet porn

Was it due to grinding/welding? As I have read that severe trauma to the eye could cause it ? Apart from other diseases of the eye, cataract surgery etc.

My dad got that 4 weeks ago. Emergency op and lying on his one side for 2 weeks and he is fine now. Eye is filled with oil at the moment but that will come out in january.

If you see any bubble or anything floating in your eye then immediately go to an eye specialist! if you catch it early enough then its just a simple laser surgery and you 100% again after immediately it. IF YOU LEAVE IT YOU CAN GO PERMANENTLY BLIND WITHIN A DAY OR 2 (Worst case) but most likely 4 days.

If you leave it like my dad did then (3 days) then the retina needs surgery to have it put back in place and you eye will be filled with oil to keep it in place. off work for 4 weeks. 2 weeks of lying on only one side. and PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR EYE!

Dont take a chance!

It is usually caused by trauma of some sort to the head....but i get the feeling that that laser corrective surgery might also cause it after a few years. IMPI, did you have that laser corrective surgery a few years back?
