Hallo! Goeie dag!

Ralph here, Lucas' brother, we're driving down to the Cape together.

Would indeed be great meeting up somewhere in SA, i'll need to figure out what would be a suitable date.
We're heading down to the World Cup with 22 orange vehicles, including 3 aircooled dubs, two T2 busses and a 1975 beetle.
see http://www.oranjetrophy.nl for more info

Let me take a look at our itinerary and get back to you with a few options!

Looking forward to meeting up with all of you in South Africa!

Cheers
Ralph

PS
Fig, your journey was inspirational for our undertaking! Of course read your entire blog, great stuff and congrats on your trip!

Hubby has to replace BaNtams engine which siezed, and he needs a bakkie to do his work. So I have to sell my bus to help fix the bantam. The irony is his mother could have helped him buy a second d/c there was one going for 46 and we could have sold the bantam for 40 and given her the money back. But again, she wont so I have to sell the bus now. If I'm not mistaken she suggested selling the beetle too. Then there would have been k*k in the land I would have murdered her. Im really heartbroken about the bus. Its in the junkmail and on gumtree. If you know anyone who is interested. Has a 2L aircooled engine. Its not on road, but I use it everyday :(

I think Im going to make some special coffee and cry some more. :( :( :(

I just spoke to Ralph on the phone. Their party has arrived in SA and they are in Ellisras/Lephalale tonight. They'll be in Pretoria tomorrow morning and then at the opening match in Jhb. They're running a very tight schedule so it will be difficult to make a time to meet them, but we've tentatively agreed to someothing on Tuesday 15/6 from lunch time onwards.

I propose as many of us as possible take half a day's leave on Tuesday and we have a big braai at Lindequesdrif. :hangloose:

Who's in?

In the meantime, everyone keep your eyes open for a large convoy of orange cars, including at least two beetles and two baywindow buses. They will be camping at the "Orange Camp", a private campsite for Hollanders organised by the Dutch embassy, somewhere in either Pretoria or Joburg.

One of the baywindow buses, with a type 1 1600 engine, is in need of a new alternator, preferably an externally regulated one, but any will do. Can anyone help? I'll post in wanted as well.

Let's turn out in force to welcome these volks; they've driven a long way to visit us!

Another option is to meet somewhere in Joburg for lunch on Tuesday ...
