High performance engine for sale
Received this by email. Please don't ask me anything about this engine. Please don't ask me the price, or the telephone number or where the guy is or his name.
I recently bought a 1968 Porsche 912 that is fitted with a high end 1978 CU engine. Since then I have spend a lot of time tracking down the original Porsche motor since I would to get the car back to its original condition.
I have now, I believe, found the engine that I was looking for and now the CU engine is for sale. The engine details are shown below:
2 litre (CU casing) engine.
The crank is a high performance balanced, with welded counter weights for high rev.
High compression Porsche 914 pistons (not low compression VW Kombi ones), 94,5 mm The cylinder heads are original Porsche 914 with 42 mm inlet valves and sodium filled 36 mm outlet valves.
High torque Cam with matching Hydraulic lifters High volume Melling oil pump Weber IDF's 40s
Engine has done less than 20,000 km
The engine is already prepared for additional oil cooling with auxiliary oil line connectors installed.
Carburetors have been re-built less than a month ago.
I have bought the car in Cape Town and driven it down to Bloemfontein without a problem, it uses no oil!, it is a real performer and If you can think of anyone interested please let me know.
The engine is still fitted to the Porsche and I drive it every day, so a prospective buyer is welcome to test the engine beforehand.
The last offer I received was R12 000-00, which I think is a little low, anything above that will be considered.
Kind regards

No, figs are soft and sweet, like cream cheese doughnuts.
