Is it legal to have some thing like that on a trailer?

Okay so here is some news from taking the body off the pan. The left hand side heater Chanel snapped and luckily the roof did not buckle or els I would have had 2 half's of a beetle but the front suspension is still in good nick and will go through a full make over be for getting put back on. The pan that I'm getting is going to get a black respray by me. some of the chrome parts are going to get re-chromed and others replaced. The motor... The petrol tank has no holes in but needs a good clean and I need to look into that. The brake lines are shocking some bits have been brazed and I think that only the front brakes worker because the braze was on the pipe from the front to the back and on the t-piece and nothing can get through it. The body is getting re placed with the yellow one from Cape Town but a patently the heater channels are badly rusted so I'm going to fiddle and replace until I have NO RUST EVEN IF IT TAKES ME 2 YEARS I want it all gone I don't want to see another rust hole for the rest of my life and I hopefully still have a long time to live So the seats are going to be last and the final coat of paint is going to be done by a professional other than that the project is going really well I'm even finding the parts I need and now I just have to find some more finances to pay for this puppy


Its going to have the original rims and hub caps and its going battle ship grey and the motor is NOT going to be standard but is not going to be a kill, just going to be reliable and have power, seats are going red and white like the original white 1964 beetle and oat meal grey carpets and a white perforated head-liner, there is going to be a hidden sound system so I have some thing to listen to on the long trips. I am going to lower the front and maybe lower the rear but will see what it looks like before doing that I want the car on the road when I get my drivers license in March 2012 (That does not mean finished I just want to be able to drive it around the block or drive around town!)

I would put at least 3 wideish planks of wood between the trailor and the bug before transporting it.

As far as transporting it like that you will need to have wide mirrors to see where you are "wenting from" cos you won't see through the bug with your rear view mirror.

It doesn't overhang the trailor to much so I can't see any other problems.

I would just take the "back roads" while doing it.

Okay the car is now going on the back of a vw trancporter and is aloud to stick out 1.8m and its going to stick out 1.6m so im safe.

I got some work done today even though the project only starts on the 3rd of Dec but any way exams will have to wait!

The motor is now on my work bench with the gear box and the rest of the parts are packed away until I get the new body and pan over so I know what I need and don't need.

Man, that pan has stax of cancer. I think if Vader saw that, not only would he be jealous, but I wouldn't be suprised if he convinced you that handing it over to him would benefit you.

Contact splitfan about pan halves. He supplies the stuff, lekker and black in color

If some one buys my intake manifolds the whole pan will be replaced with a pan that has all round disk brakes so come on some one please buy them!!!!

Okay I made a rash decision today I chose to sell my weber carbs But its all in a good cause and they not hard things to find. Now my beetle is going to have all round disk brakes and the 1600 gear box it going to go into bogo my orange 75 beetle which has fatal gear problems. I am going to have a whole new pan and a very smart braking system after this!! YAY Now I'm really exited to get stuck into this project!!

The car is completely striped and the motors heads and sleeves have been taken of and I have finally found some thing that looks good on the car!!! I need to look at the pistons and sleeves more closely but they look really good at first sight There are no cracks in the heads and the pistons the rings look good and there is no play between the con-rods and the crank or between the pistons and the con-rod
