Talk is cheap. Organise it and the people will come.

As Fig says - talk is cheap.....
Ask Bugger how much organising it takes ....

BUT... organise a show and most will attend!!

A BUGFEST is a (Now don't think I say the other shows is not done right) a show with the International style judging and 13 to 18 or more specific show classes
How judging work is you got a team of judges around 15 members and divided in to teams of 3 and each team of 3 Judges are specialists in their own fields eg Classic bugs,California style,Kitcars,Busses Etc. Now If I would judge Classic Bugs and Omm Ferdi Radel does Modified Rotary bugs then Both of us would be Judging completely the wrong type of Bugs We are specialists in or what we prefer so we got more insight and history about out fields

Now before a bugfest you actually have to get all the judges together and "GIVE THEM TRAINING" as how and what to look for and have a basic std to work from as I have seen at such a training session where we just took a nice bug and before we started the training said to all the judges to just mark 5 Quick points on the bug and one judge gave paint 5 next 8 next 2 and so one so you need to have a basic guideline to work from other wise the bug next to a 10 point bug walks away with the trophy

Now each Bug on show gets Judges by all 3 judges of the team judging the specific class and last By the Bug fest in 2001 was 150 cars on show entered. so Myself and the ladies and guys helping me we had to go through 450 sets of papers to get each class no 3,2,1 and it is no Joke and still afterwards there were bickering about winners of Full custom etc
One other problem is also California class might have 50 entrants and classic 55 to 59 might have 4 entrants and both group of owners has spent huge amounts of money on their bugs but the guy with the classic has a much higher chance of winning
This is the reason I would rather stick with the more informal way we have been doing basic judging and trophy handouts by some of our events in the past as there are more participants

Any one else with wiews on this topic pls dont be shy and if any one has the energy to Tackkle a Bugfest you are welcome to contact me for help
