hey i bought a beach buggy with an vw 1.8 carburator motor she was standing for 3 years and i started her up yesterday was so happy when she started up after 3 years standing but te petrol cable "haaks vas " when i rev her what can i do to stop the cable from "haaking vas" and one more thing she idles nice and smooth but when i rev her she starts to mis a little what could cause that thanx in advance please i want your comments or suggestions thanx

Hello and welcome, please share some more info about your whereabouts. :mrgreen:

Cable that "haak vas" you can use some 3 in 1 oil, let it run through the whole throttle cable and come dripping out on the other end, it could also be that you may need a stronger spring on the carb to pull back the cable.

On the miss, check all plug leads, they could be tired and need replacement, also replace the spark plugs while you're at it and get yourself a can of carb cleaner, and clean that old carb properly.
