Lots of work going on there.....

What colour is it going to be? Or is it a secret for now?

No secret on the colour front, it'll be exactly the same: red and white! I had no issue with that combo from the start - it stands out!

It is a rather cool combo. Are you going to put some sign writing on her? Would look awesome with some classic styles above the waste line.

Great progress being made there Gavin and Pierre.

I'm loving all the urethane foam filler. Whoever did that should have his hands chopped off.

Nose badge added, hubcap rims (beetle ones are all I had to use in photoshop right now, they will be bus rims), front and back bumpers and a first draught of the logo of the company!

Well, the red and white Fleetline bolted to the rotisserie (which in my opinion looked perfect from the start) is having a full respray and rebuild - it's in the rotisserie as it's due at the sandblasters sometime soon. The owner wants a rotary engine, Pierre's custom straight axle conversion kit and a super gearbox. The white Fleetline Panel Van belongs to another bloke. It's actually panted in that pearl-white metallic paint which, I must admit,
looks great. It was there for a paint repair to the roof. Pierre's Syncro is in the background of some of the pics too. There are always loads of ACVW's at Pierre's - you should see round the back!

Further news on mine is that I'd dropped off one of the two Bay walkthrough seats I'd found at Van Den Brink as well as their accompanying rails at Pierre's. He is having a look to see if we can modify the rails to fit. The other of the seats is at the upholsterer to see if he can work with them and I've gotten a thumb's up from him so far. He also has the door-cards (including the cargo door-cards) and rear hatch card to cover as well. Soon he'll get the two cards to cover that surround the headlight bowls (not sure of their proper name) soon. The seats are going to be red with white piping and door-cards are all red too. Yes, a lot of "red" going on here, but remember: red cars go faster!

I know there's many upholsterers around but I happened upon this on completely by accident on the hunt for a doctor near Cresta over the festive season. I've seen their pictures of what they do. Their stuff looks pretty good. To be honest, I'm not too fussy with the bus, bearing in mind that it only ever had the masonite cards before, a splash of colour is a welcome relief. The guys are just recovering the masonite boards that were in the bus as they were relatively newly cut and still in good condition. The seats demand quite a bit of work but the guy seems confident that he can do it. He quoted me the following before seeing any of it:

+- R150 for larger door cards (just recovering in red with a bit of fancy stitching for detail)
+-R100 for smaller cards
+-R550 per front seat

I really don't think the price is bad at all.

The name of the company is Paraphanalia and they are on Beyers Naude one block down from Cresta, next to Jacks Paint and opposite Jody's tires.

Those door-cards were on the bus when I got it. They really shouldn't be difficult to re fabricate. If anything, I'd imagine the upholsterers could cut them if they had a template to go by. Are the one's you need for your SC? If so, you're welcome to trace one of the panels from my bus when I get them back. Builders Warehouse have sheets of Masonite...

Hi all!

Now keep calm, here are more pics of the progress! :D .

I'd neglected to mention from the beginning, and forty lashes for me, the following metal panels were all produced by a fellow forum member who goes by the Forum Name: herbie123 aka Andreas Radel:

Inner rockers both sides
Outer rockers both sides (cargo side outer rocker was sourced new by Andreas but afaik can be made)
Cargo floor section (full sections for any bus derivative can be ordered)
Cargo floor locking plate

The gauge of metal is thicker than stock which is comforting to know :hangloose: . Should anyone be interested in ordering, please PM him.

Another quick "high-five" needs to go to Rui (Calooker) who miraculously came up with two rear bumper brackets at the last minute on Sunday. Thanks a million Rui :hangloose:

Pierre and the guys were at it hammer and tong on Sunday! Here are some pics courtesy of Pierre himself :hangloose: :
