Ghia tyre clearance

Post by andyrtmorgan »

I'm looking at fitting some new mags and tyres to my low lamp ghia - I know, I can hear the purists already :) I'll keep my old biscuits for a my show and shine days! What size rim and tyre should I be looking at ?

unless you get a disc brake conversion or adapters made, you dont have much option. Be careful with the mags on the rear, adapters can make them stand out further than the fender

The plan is to do the conversion on the front and get adaptors for the back. Might just get adaptors all round until I get around to collecting parts for the disk conversion. Will stock 14" 'golf 1 chico' type mags work on the rear with their stock tyres?

Go for a 15 inch BBS wheel from an Audi 500 Turbo or a 16 inch BBS from a Jetta V5...I love BBS wheels

Yes they will, but you will prob find the rear tyres stick out past the fendor...

Put some extra cash aside and the 4 wheel disks... you will never regret it.... I'll never drive a bug with drums again

the mags might be great, but think about the hours needed to clean them....

Small price to pay for BBS, or just hire someone else to clean them...
