Well here is the story and some pics
Story starts with a friend of mine trying to get some business for his tractor repair shoppe - so he sees the bus and phones me
have a chat with Oom Eben - seems there is a spanner in the works
This is in the form of a deal that has been made between Peter and Bryan Osmond of Osmonds Auto in the Strand and Oom Eben
Seems the deal is repair a T25 for the bus - watercooled conversion
Give the Osmonds a call and Peter says I should speak with Bryan as it will be his restoration project
This all happened on Friday the 25 May
Monday go and meet Bryan and state my case regarding the bus - throw a number at him and now its the waiting game as he will give it a thought as he is actaully after an earlier bus to brand for the shop - a pickup
Now we wait and dont want to phone back to soon to scare the lad off - so thursday I give him a call and he says still thinking but will give me a buzz a little later
Well later the call comes and when I see its Bryan I get that dreaded got to see the headmaster feeling
Turns out for the good as he says bring the bucks before he changes his mind
So its a mad dash to conclude the deal
All done Thursday 31 may
Friday organise trailer and the plan for the pickup on Sat
At this stage I had no idea what the bus looked like - One side of my brain is saying your %&&$*&$* Mad and the other trustworthy side is it will be as it will be
So you all can believe me that when I saw her for the first time in the flesh it was well worth the wait and not knowing

Many thanks to Bryan Osmond for having the faith in me to take over his project

Paul for the chats of encouragement and advise - Splitbusaholic for the nagging for the pictures and Bruce for the cold beer on the deckchair yesterday - that was most definately beter than the movies
A Thankyou goes out to all of the forum members that i will be calling on for advise during this restoration
Well one very happy camper up here in Grabouw and heres to getting this blue dream back on the roads :hangloose:

Here some details

First bought by
Mr Delport -Headmaster Barrydale School
Johan Griesel teacher Barrydale
Johan Mullich Barrydale - used the bus for transport of apricots
Then Mr Eben La Grange
Oom Eben seems to think he bought the bus in the late 60,s or early 70,s
Bus was used in its early days as a school bus can actually see the patena from the sign
Oom Eben used the bus to transport his kids to and from the school
He said he made the locals mad comming out from town as the bus used to slow everyone down
Unfortunately they did not have a camera
Hopeing that the school might have some pics
A very emotional departure as Oom Eben sat down on an old log and tipped his hat as we left
He had spoken about the fact that it seems as now in the later part of life all he has left is the memories

His family farm is at the warm springs there at Warmwaterberg - he still owns a share in the resort
Weird having the tour and he explains how the current reception area was the kitchen of the house and that was where he grew up

The plan when i am finished fixing her up will be to hopefully get some busses together and hit this spring for a weekend
