By all mean turbo helps but you won't get the same numbers out of a ac that you will a rotary.

You'll be surprised by what numbers some ac's can put up, all depends on your preferrence of powerplant and application,Qkickslvr wrote:By all mean turbo helps but you won't get the same numbers out of a ac that you will a rotary.

Re: Ford V6 beetle
By all means I am not arguing the fact that a ac turbo can produce some good numbers. Only problem is you not going to get the best life out of a turbo ac. I look at building a ac turbo motor and I would have spent way more that the R50k to get the same figures that I have now. I think to get 180kw out of a ac motor is asking a lot. My goal now is 200kw which I know I will get easily. Charge cooler and a little more air from the hairdryer. Bratjie respect to you I'm sure a lot of hard work went in.Bratjie wrote:You'll be surprised by what numbers some ac's can put up, all depends on your preferrence of powerplant and application,Qkickslvr wrote:By all mean turbo helps but you won't get the same numbers out of a ac that you will a rotary.

Re: Ford V6 beetle
I know of some AC Vdub motors pushing out almost double what you have in your rotary........but like you said, bang for the buck, you can't beat Wankle.

Re: Ford V6 beetle
I agree with both lol but having a aircooled with 143kw and around 268N on the road is a lot of fun and surprises quite a few people. Rotary is of course a good option too but I like Bratjie wanted to keep the aircooled. A lot of people won't believe that an aircooled can perform like that.
