Could someone please refer me to a link or some information on these specific busses? I did a quick Google search but could not find much on them.

Brazilia buses are a hybrid cook up of available VW bus parts if you like.

They were assembled in Brazil and comprise:

*a bay-window bus front end until the B pillars and the rest back-ward are from a split window bus.
*They share a front suspension with a split bus
*Rear corner windows from a fleetline bus
* 4 speed gearbox with universal joints and reduction gearboxes

All adding to make it a unique bus that you either like or dont, all the same quite rare. Personally I like them.

The best way to put it, this bus was built by the "Leftovers in the Store"

My thread http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... 23&t=26163 , and you will see what I mean.

After the Split Bus, the Bay Window was introduced here in South Africa.

Then in 1975, VWSA brought in the "Fleetline" for one year, as a Cheaper option. Same as the Split bus but with 2 extra side windows, and the back round windows.

The next year, they brought in the Brazillia, not sure if it was VWSA or an other import firm. (could not confirm either way)

Was always under the impression that they were a one year wonder, BUT, (Edit add. oldschoolgp has a 1976,) my bus is a 1977, and Johan Eagle's Brazilia is an 1978

So it would seem that they were brought in for 3 years.

So your guess is as good as mine,

So to date, we have 5 Brazillia's on the forum, namely Priscilla, Hitlers Revenge, Johan Eagle and Retrovan, + oldschoolgp

Herman
