Re: indicator in headlight
If your beetle has a sloping glass, it can be done very easy, either by changing the park light to an orange lamp with holder and moving the park to the side and drilling a new hole.
If you have a upright light but the reflector and globe type, then you can do the same as the system above.
Only if you have a sealed beam, or semi sealed beam where it would be near impossible.
Why I say near impossible, is you can on the semi sealed, dill hole with sharpened masonry drill, into the glass and fit a fitting, or remove the silver on the inside of the glass on a certain spot, and fit the globe behind the semi sealed beam, and shine through the back of the glass, have seen it done, but
load of work with little reward.

Re: indicator in headlight
I saw an advert in either Ultra VW or VolksWorld of a month or two ago, right on the last page that had 7" headlights with orange L.E.D's in them for the turn signal, the add was from CIP1..

Re: indicator in headlight
The golf indicators don't have the curve to fit the bumper! I tried,
it does fit but not flush.

More than meets the eye!
