NEWS: Volkswagen revises Beetle Dune Concept for 2014
Rumored to get production version in 2015
Volkswagen has updated its Beetle Dune concept for the 2014 North American International Auto Show which will open its doors next week.
The original Beetle Dune concept was introduced by Volkswagen in 2000 and now the German marque has prepared a revision based on the latest generation. The vehicle adopts a rugged crossover-like styling approach with flared wheel arches, protective plates, black moldings and large alloy wheels. The cabin boasts several yellow accents and a handle which has replaced the glove box.
Volkswagen has fitted the 2014 Beetle Dune concept with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivering 210 HP (154 kW) to the wheels through a dual-clutch 6-speed DSG.
Rumors are already indicating a production version is due sometime in 2015.
