I have a problem...

Post by Tony Z »

Hi, my name is Tony and I have a problem

For the first time in years, I have returned home to a car that needs no work and starts right up.
So what do I do?
I end up taking it all apart to neaten up wiring and plumbing.... I actually had to stop and tell myself not to remove the engine.

OK, I'll admit, doing things piece by piece does lead to an electrical mess and I wasnt proud of it. So hopefully I'll end up with something neater this time around.

I am really thinking that I need another car to tinker on, just so I can spend more time driving this one...

Anyone else have similar issues?

No Buddy, you just as not normal as the rest of us.

You have now worked out why most of us have a "few" "projects" all over the yard.

Just when you start getting withdrawal symptoms, you put you hand to some thing.

Strip it, fix it, clean it, paint it, and when you find yourself, a new project hits the road.

Why not take Merlins Fasty project over, and feel how a true VW should drive.

When thats done, a Bus will be in order.

Old cars, especially ACVWs, are an affliction.

Now that you are a maplotter Tony, you will find that old cars will fill the available space ...

I nearly bought a single cab the other day but it was way too banged up for the price.

I was thinking about Mellow Yellows fasty, but I have other priorities.
Another bug and a 1600 Bay (panel if possible) are on that list.

My bus has been waiting for months now for me to replace the slipping clutch.....:(
The speedster need its new gauges fitted and the carpets neatened up after the respray and then fit the 1776.......:(
:) I have just started stripping a Suzuki B200 to build a Cafe racer !
I enjoy the work as much as driving them...but only if im motivated to do it , so having a few "projects" keeps m,e working on the things i feel like doing and it doesnt become a chore. :D
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

LOL, after pulling out the seats today and excess wiring, the thought crossed my mind to pull the engine and then get the car resprayed....
not going down that path, but it shows that I really need another project.
My house addition plans better get approved soon so I can start building a new garage/mancave
