Nope, not high powered.
I'll be building a 1700 specifically as a bus engine to replace the 1600. Something with a bit more efficiency, and a fair bit of extra torque. Something that will allow me to get to the top of the hill while still being in 4th, while hopefully still getting better fuel economy than the stock 1600.
Time will tell if I accomplish my goals.

Awesome bus there Z. My favourite kind too. Panels rock.

Congratulations Tony. It's a German spec panel van, not Brazilian. (Notice cooling air intakes, vehicle slightly longer at the back, front emblem not pressed in, wheels, etc.

Your 1700 idea... Are you thinking 1700 type 1 or 1700 type 4?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Congrats Tony !!!

Great looking bus, I take it the 1700 along with the 1750 you mentioned is the one for this bus. Was wondering why you were planning on building a bus engine.

Hey D
Both engines are engines that I have been wanting to build and test for a while. So now luckily I'll have 2 vehicles to test them in.

To be honest, I wasnt planning on getting a bus. I always wanted a panel van but never thought that I'd find one that is straight. When this one popped up, I knew that if I didnt jump onto it now, I'd regret it for a long time to come.
No regrets.

I'll reveal the specs/plans for the engines at a later stage. The 1750 will be a slightly higher spec than the 1700 and a little more work to build. I can change the spec of either to suit a bug, bus, cruiser, street racer... as one wishes. So it isnt specifically one for the bus and one for the bug.
But in my case, I'll be building a 1750 for the 1302 with the aim of around 100hp and able to use as a daily driver. For the bus, it'll be a 1700 with about 80hp (at a guess) and hopefully enough torque to pull a load without straining, also as a daily driver.
