Post by dixtoy »

My Westy ( Gypsy ) needs a bit of TLC on the paint work as it was resprayed the original Green but was not done properly

The question is do I spray it the original Green or change the colour to Orange witch I like better

Changing the colour completely would mean the you have to change the papers, if that is not a prob for you then go for it
I would say keep it green but go for a green that appaels to you

That's no longer true. I have changed car colours and had no impact on Reg papers.

Dix, go what what you want mate. IMHO, If you're not entirely happy with the car or dislike it because of the colour, subconciously this will piss you off. Rather change it to what YOU want it to look like. :hangloose:

You must take into account the sun and adverse weather as a camper normally spends a lot more time in the sun than a average vehicle.

DEFINITELY A PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

CYNDI LIKES THE ORANGE.
I DON'T LIKE THE SOLID GREEN OR THE ORANGE.
I THINK THE GREEN ON THE BOTTOM WITH A WHITE TOP, FROM JUST BELOW THE WINDOWS WOULD MAKE IT "POP" A LOT MORE. YOU COULD ALSO COLOUR CODE/MATCH YOUR BUMPERS FOR MORE CONTRAST.

NICE BUS THOUGH.

Dixon, please do your self a favor, do it Orange, as I know you like the Orange, your family likes the orange, and the Orange will brighten up each and every trip you guys make, making the Van so much more enjoyable for you.

let the next buyer respray it back to Original, ....If he so wishes......

VWAC's is about fun, and usage, not Museum pieces......

if you are uncertain, why not take it to a panel shop to have the original colour "cut" with 1200 water paper and polished to new? Then you will see the original colour in all its glory. If you dont like it then, well, Orange it is...
