Hi everyone.

Also a newbie to the form, and I want to start of bragging about a friend of mine. His gift to me, a 718 RSK Replica!!! Also my very first aircooled car ever, and enjoying every second of it.

Ill be sure to pester most of you with tons of questions, and most likely updates as I go on fixing it up to what it needs to be. One thing to go first is that awful steering wheel!

New to chatting on this end of the world (west coast USA guy) & just found this site today.
Looking forward to see what you guys are cookin' down here & hoping I can contribute to the fun.

I've got a '58 panel that I've put a couple Kombi doors on & westy style interior.... and a '70 vert Ghia I'll be digging into soon.
Cheers,
E

Welcome guys.
"Easy E" - I really like your two tone panel - very different colour scheme which really works well.
How about a project thread?

Hi all. I'm obviously new to the group. I've always loved aircooled VW's. Was the proud owner of beach buggies since 1978'ish and always craved a splitty. One came my way in 1995 and after a nightmareish restoration attempt by a restoration professional my bus, T2/23, is still not completed. I'm hoping to get in touch with other honest airheads. I'm based in Barkly East near Tiffendell in the Southern Drakensberg. Thanks for accepting me to the forum.

Hello All,

My 1st car was a 1976 Beetle 1600L... It was love at first sight!
A few other VW's have come and gone since (3 x beetles, Double cab Kombi, 2 Ghia's, Volksie bus and even a 58 Westy!)

It's been a decade since I last owned a VWAC... all that changed TODAY!

I am the proud owner of a 1976 Beetle 1600S... Although she needs quite a bit of Tender Love & Care, it sure is Love at 1st sight!

Looking forward to getting to know all you guys & gals on the forum!

Cheers,
GunDog

I am a vw enthusiast. I am a family member of George van Straaten and in my endeavours to find information about him, I stumbled on your website. I have many photos and articles about George van Straaten. I grew up at Kayalami knowing Meyer Botha, Jan van Wyk, Rad Dougal, Peter Haller and many more. I spent many hours in the garage with George, being taught to clean, build, design and paint. My name is Vilia.
