Re: XT500 Rear wheel Wanted
I had hoped that XT500 bike would be a quick strip, clean, paint. Its better to use an XT500 rear hub laced to a 2.15x18 rim. The XT hub has the proper cush drive for the SR and is essentially the same hub used on European model SR's with laced wheels. The Yamaha XT 500 was first produced in 1975. It shares the same engine with its road relatives, the SR500 and its off-road variant the TT500.The tires that came with the bike looked pretty good and they were cracking, dry rotted, mildly cupped and generally in rough shape. The rotten tires were more of a pain in the ass to remove. Be careful if you want to fork swap and use a short stem and bigger yamahas use the longer stems.
