Greetings, just for info ...
We leave for George on Friday morning between 10 and 12pm. So far it will be Christo ('70 panelvan), Jason (1100 bus), Paul (Fleetline fire truck conversion), Sean (Fleetline widebed single cab project if he is finished ), another dude in a '64 split, Mark Saul (early bay).
There are no formal arrangements or plans, but you are welcome to hook up anywhere along the way. N1, Barrydale, Route 62, Oudshoorn and then over the pass into George.
Camping across the road from the showgrounds.
Let me know if we must look out for you along the way (Paul 08two 4174553)
(and it does'nt have to be a Kombi by the way )

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Re: George Old Car Show from Cape Town
Just a few pics of the George trip
tunnel delays
new kid on the block also needed some, er, fine tuning here and there (and sometimes not obeying the fuel gauge and throwing in some juice )
Another new bus on the road needing some "adjustments"
Meeting up at Worcester - seeing Sean's recently restored single cab widebed Fleetline coming along the N1 for the first time was a very lekker sight
And yet another recently revived bus back on the road with some more serious issues, in this case Christo had a complete spare cv joint stashed in the back of his bus (WTF!) which he handed over to Mark Saul He also had a directors chair from which he barked witty remarks and instructions to the boy under the bus
The show itself was great, as was meeting up with a few fellow ACVWSA members (Pierre where did you dissappear to?)
But due to a shi@#y stomach bug, pun intended, I did'nt take many pics. This bug floored a few of us there. And arriving back to a flooded tent on the Saturday afternoon did'nt make me very happy iether (thanks Gerhard and Erna for sharing their camper )
The drive back from George as far as Grabouw was rainy and miserable all the way. Over the Sir Lowries pass the sun was shining and we were back to drought conditions
Apart from wet tents and tummy bugs, abd the odd mechanical issue it was still an awesome Kombi trip with like minded aircooled nutters
Well done to the KZN, PE, Bloem, JHB, etc crews for making the drive with all your various busses
